Driver injured in two-vehicle accident
BATES TOWNSHIP — One person was taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident in Bates Township Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., the Iron County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a personal injury accident on Bates Amasa Road. Police say a car pulled out of a driveway and right into the path of a southbound pickup truck.
The vehicles ended up in the ditch as a result of the collision. Both drivers were the lone occupants in each vehicle.
The driver of the car was transported to Aspirus Iron River Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
Police say the roads were icy and snow covered at the time of the accident.
The West Iron Fire Department, Iron County Search and Rescue, Aspirus EMT’s and Iron County Central Dispatch assisted the sheriff’s office with the accident.
