Two in hospital following two-vehicle accident

ISHPEMING — Two people are in the hospital following a two-vehicle collision in Ishpeming.

Police responded to the intersection of US-41 and Lakeshore Drive around 6:15pm Monday evening for a personal injury accident.

An officer on scene reported that a black and white car was going Eastbound towards Marquette on US-41 when it hit a blue PT cruiser that was turning left onto Lakeshore Drive.

Both drivers of the vehicles were transported to the hospital. The extent of the injuries is unclear, but police say they believe there were no fatalities.

The drivers were the only occupants of the cars at the time of the accident. Both vehicles received extensive front end damage and had to be towed from the scene.

No citations were given at this time.
