Murder suspect enters not guilty plea

CRYSTAL FALLS — An Iron River woman charged with six felony counts- including open murder- was arraigned in Iron County Trial Court Tuesday morning.

Kelly Cochran pleaded not guilty to charges of open murder, conspiracy to commit dead bodies, concealing the death of an individual, lying to a peace officer during a violent crime investigation, accessory after the fact to a felony and larceny of a building. She faces up to life in prison alone on the open murder charge.

Cochran is charged in the death and disappearance of Chris Regan, who was first reported missing in 2014. She also faces murder charges in Illinois relating to the death of her husband, Jason Cochran.

Kelly Cochran’s trial is set to begin on December 5th with jury selection. Before the trial takes place, a motions hearing was scheduled for November 17th.
