Attempted bank robbery case moves to Federal Court

MARINETTE, Wisc. — The case of a Crivitz, Wisconsin man arrested after an attempted bank robbery has been sent to Federal Court.

Ross Bertucci, 32, was indicted in the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Wisconsin on two counts of attempted bank robbery and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon. Bertucci was arrested in August after allegedly attempting to enter the State Bank of Florence in Wausaukee while armed with a gun, which the federal indictment identifies as a Walther P22. Bank employees were warned of his presence by a clerk at a nearby gas station, and they locked the door before he could gain entry.

Bertucci is scheduled for a final pretrial conference on November 10th, and a trial has been set to begin on the 21st. Because the case is now being heard in U.S. District Court, charges Bertucci was facing in Marinette County were dismissed through a motion by the County Prosecutor.
