Judge denies motion to dismiss first-degree murder case

COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS — A judge has said ‘no’ to dismissing a case against an Upper Peninsula woman charged with first–degree murder.

Jacquelyn Greco, 69, of Crystal Falls appeared in a Cook County, Ill. courtroom Tuesday morning. Her attorney filed a motion to dismiss the case, which was denied.

Greco was arrested in April of 2013 for the 1979 murder of her husband, Carl Gaimari in Inverness, Ill. Two men entered the family home, tied up Greco and three of the couple’s children, and shot and killed Gaimari when he returned home.

The Cook County State’s Attorney’s office has said Greco was having an affair at the time and told at least one other person that her husband would be killed in a home invasion.

She’s due back in court on Sept. 7th.
