UPDATE: Missing child found safe
UPDATE — 8:50 a.m. May 16th, 2016 (EDT)
ABC affiliate WXYZ reports that Dakota Grimes has been located. She was found safe at a home near the area where the car was stolen with her inside.
DETROIT — The Detroit Police Department has issued an Amber Alert for a missing child.
According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, three-month-old Dakota Grimes was in the back seat of a 2006 Chevy Impala when it was stolen from in front of McDonalds Drug Store on 16636 Harper Avenue in Detroit early Monday morning. The car is described as white in color with Michigan license plate “CPG8598.” It was stolen at approximately 1:00 a.m.
The vehicle has damage to the driver’s side rear bumper.
Grimes is a three-month-old black female weighing about twelve pounds. Officials say she was last seen wearing pink pants and a pink shirt with a pink bow in her hair.
