HOUGHTON — A Chassell man was sent to the hospital after colliding with a vehicle while riding a bicycle in Houghton Tuesday evening.

Officers from the Houghton Police Department say the accident happened on Bridge Street just after 5:00 p.m. The 22-year-old cyclist was traveling in the wrong direction on Bridge Street near Montezuma Avenue when he collided with a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old Atlantic Mine man.

The bicyclist was transported by Mercy Ambulance to UP Health System – Portage. There is no word on his condition at this time. Police say the incident remains under investigation.
