Driver arrested, charged in death of MSP Trooper
CLARKSTON, MICH — Michigan State Police (MSP) detectives assigned to the Second District Special Investigations Section arrested Charles Raymond Warren Jr., 69 years of age, of Waterford today. Warren is suspected of causing the traffic crash that killed MSP Tpr. Chad Wolf on Aug. 28, 2015.
Warren was arraigned in the 52-2 District Court in Clarkston on two felony counts authorized by the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office.
Count 1: Reckless Driving Causing Death
Count 2: Failure to Stop At Scene of Accident – When At Fault – Resulting In Death
If convicted, Warren faces a maximum of 15 years on each count.
Wolf was on patrol with his department-issued motorcycle driving on Dixie Highway near I-75 in Springfield Township at approximately 6:30 a.m. when a passenger vehicle towing a trailer collided with Wolf’s motorcycle.
