Two vehicle accident snarls traffic
MARQUETTE — A two-vehicle collision slowed down traffic in Marquette Township just after eleven thirty this morning.
Investigation by the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office revealed that a two thousand fourteen Dodge pick-up truck driven by 78-year-old Michael Vilona of East Troy Wisconsin was in the center turn lane of US-Forty One preparing to merge with East-bound traffic.
Vilona failed to yield and pulled out in front of a twenty fifteen Chevy Tahoe driven by 37-year-old Jamie Tasson from Ishpeming.
As a result, a collision occurred in the passing lane causing both vehicles to cross to the right and into a grassy ditch off of the highway by the Ojibwa Express Gas Station.
Both parties refused medical treatment. Vilona admitted fault and was issued a traffic citation for failure to yield.
