The Michigan State Police tells ABC 10 that County Road 424 is back open after a two-vehicle accident just after 8:05 a.m. CT this morning.
STAMBAUGH TOWNSHIP — One person was taken to the hospital after the tanker truck they were driving overturned in Iron County.
The tanker truck was traveling east on County Road 424 near Seasonal Road in Stambaugh Township just after 8:00 a.m. CT when the truck driver failed to negotiate a curve. The tanker truck traveled into the ditch, up an embankment and began to roll over.
The truck came in contact with an unoccupied vehicle that was parked in the ditch for construction purposes. After hitting the parked vehicle, the truck came to a stop in the middle of the roadway.
The driver of the truck was transported to Aspirus Hospital for unknown injuries. Alcohol is believed not to be a factor in the accident.
As of 1:45 p.m. CT, the road is still closed according to the Michigan State Police Iron Mountain Post.
