Man injured in motorcycle accident
GLADSTONE — A motorcyclist was injured after losing control of his bike in Gladstone Thursday morning.
Gladstone Public Safety Officers say the incident occurred on US-2/41 near M-35 shortly before 8:00 a.m. 39-year-old Greggory Simonsen of Rapid River was traveling to Escanaba when he hit some gravel and lost control of his Harley Davidson. He went into the median and was thrown from his bike.
Police say Simonsen was transported to OSF St. Francis Hospital and later transferred to UP Health System – Marquette for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Simonson was wearing a helmet when the crash occurred. No citations were issued in the incident.
Gladstone Public Safety Officers were assisted at the scene by troopers from the Gladstone Post of the Michigan State Police, Rampart EMS, and Gene’s Towing.
