Three arrested for armed robbery
MARQUETTE — Three suspects are in jail awaiting arraignment after attempting an armed robbery in Marquette.
Marquette City Police officers say they were dispatched to the residence on Fair Avenue shortly after 8:30 Wednesday evening to investigate an armed robbery. Witnesses reported seeing a man wearing a hoodie and a ski mask attempting to enter the residence.
“It was reported to officers that a black male had entered the residence, brandished a handgun,” said Detective Corporal Gregory Kinonen of the Marquette City Police Department. “The door was closed on him, and he didn’t make away with any money or drugs from the scene.”
Through their investigation, officers were able to locate the man and two others who were believed to be involved. Police found a vehicle that one of the suspects had allegedly driven to the scene parked a couple blocks away. They executed a search warrant on the vehicle, which revealed a loaded firearm, hoodies, and a ski mask. The three suspects were taken into custody without incident.
There were no injuries reported in the incident. The names of the three suspects arrested in this case are being withheld pending their arraignment.
