Three people charged with open murder
MANISTIQUE — Three Manistique residents were arraigned on various murder charges this morning in Schoolcraft County District Court.
45–year–old Kenneth Brunke and 46–year–old Garry Cordell are charged with three counts of open murder, three counts of conspiracy to commit open murder, three counts of first degree murder, and three counts of unlawful imprisonment.
28–year–old Marietta Carlson is charged with one count of open murder, one count of conspiracy to commit open murder, three counts of first degree murder, and three counts of unlawful imprisonment.
The suspects are being held at the Schoolcraft County Jail without bond. All three are scheduled for probable cause conferences on May 20th and preliminary examinations on the 27th.
Back on April 17th, the Michigan State Police found the bodies of three people burned in a vehicle in Doyle Township. The bodies of 42 year-old Jody Hutchinson, 31 year-old Carrie Nelson and 25-year-old Heather Aldrich were later identified as the bodies inside the vehicle.
Barring the discovery of any more evidence, the MSP St. Ignace Post does not expect to seek charges against anyone else in connection to the three deaths.
