Retail fraud suspect headed for sentencing
IRON MOUNTAIN — A Norway man involved in a retail fraud case will be sentenced in Dickinson County Circuit Court.
24-year-old Steven Gerow was scheduled Monday to enter a motion to withdraw his guilty plea on one count of first-degree retail fraud, but instead agreed to continue with that plea and head to sentencing.
Gerow was arrested by Iron Mountain Police last June after the Walmart store in Iron Mountain filed a fraud complaint. When officers arrived, they found Gerow fleeing the store’s loss prevention staff. Police say they later recovered several thousand dollars in stolen merchandise from his house.
Gerow will be handed his sentence on June 15th.
