UPSET drug bust suspects arraigned
ESCANABA — Thirteen of the Escanaba residents arrested in an major UPSET drug bust were arraigned this morning in Delta County District Court.
Each member of the group was charged with delivery or manufacture of a controlled substance, buprenorphine, up to three counts. John Gray, 36, of Escanaba was also charged with delivery or manufacture of dihydrocodone and oxycodone.
Also appearing via video conference were Miranda Wilson, 24, Jaclyn Snouwaert (Snort), 29, Bobbi–Jo Godfrey, 31, Terry Eskofski, 32, Joseph Bonneau, 25, Jacob Anderson, 24, Mitchel Lafave Jr, 33, Joshua Lockhart, 27, Jaime Mason, 36, Mitchel Melin, 28, Cory Mulhern, 37, Brian Olsen, 33.
All thirteen defendants will have a probable cause conference on April second. Preliminary exams will follow on the ninth and sixteenth.
The charges stem from several investigations conducted by UPSET into the sale and distribution of buprenorphine. Buprenorphine is also known as suboxone or subutex and is used to treat drug addiction and for pain management.
