IRON MOUNTAIN — Officers from the Iron Mountain Police Department have arrested a 27-year-old man following an investigation into reports of possible child abuse.

Police say they first received complaint about the alleged incident on Aug. 31st, 2014. A lengthy investigation followed before officers arrested Ryan James Barr, of Iron Mountain.

Barr is charged with 2nd degree child abuse and 2nd degree child abuse, committed in the presence of another child. Both counts are 10-year felonies.

Barr is currently in the Dickinson County Correctional Center awaiting his next court date. He will have a probable cause conference on January 21st with a preliminary exam to follow on January 28th.

His bond has been set at $10,000.
