Grand Marais man arrested for larceny
GRAND MARAIS — One man is in jail in Alger County after stolen property was recovered at his home.
The Alger County Sheriff’s Department says a felony warrant for larceny in a building was served Monday on 22-year-old William David Rauff Jr. of Grand Marais. A search warrant was executed on Rauff’s residence November 1st during the investigation of a number of breaking and entering incidents in the Grand Marais area from this past fall. These same investigations led to the arrest of 39-year-old Carl Yeager on October 31st.
The search warrant of Rauff’s home turned up stolen property from a separate September 2013 larceny incident at M-28 Auto in Munising Township. The property was confirmed stolen after subsequent investigations and the warrant for Rauff’s arrest was issued.
Rauff was arraigned Tuesday in 93rd District Court and is lodged in the Alger County Jail on $5,000 bond.
