Woman busted for meth lab in Ishpeming
A house in west Ishpeming was busted today for operating as a meth lab.
A 37–year-old woman is in jail after police found meth making components in a home on Marble Street in Ishpeming. The Ishpeming Township Fire and Police Departments were called to assist the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team around 4:00 p.m. this afternoon.
“We were concerned there were children around a house where meth was being made. I’ve been working on this for two days with protective services and it just came together today. We tracked one of them down on Marble Street and looking into the house with protective services I saw components in the house, items used for making meth and I saw a couple of the run–off bottles, I call them one pots but it is the final bottle where the gassing off occurs,” said Dan Willey, Ishpeming Police Department.
Being extra cautious and wearing safety gear, UPSET officials spent hours carefully removing the chemicals from the home. The woman is being held at the Marquette County jail.
