“We are very excited to fully enter new markets as a result of our pending acquisition of Peninsula Bank and we are looking forward to supporting these communities’ civic organizations and schools” said Kelly W. George, mBank President and CEO. “There are numerous highly valuable organizations throughout our markets that have a positive impact on the local residents. If our involvement can magnify that impact, we believe it is our responsibility to help in those efforts and we are happy to do so along with the many volunteer hours from our dedicated local staff.”
mBank makes investments of time and money in areas that meet community needs, including but not limited to: education, literacy, human services, animal welfare and health care organizations. Over the past three years, mBank has supported various community causes by investing more than $300,000.
“We are extremely pleased to be the recipient of an mBank donation,” said Dan Skewis, superintendent, Negaunee Public Schools. “It will certainly be put to good use as we kick-off an exciting new year and look to provide our students the best educational experience possible.”
“The generosity of mBank will help support the purchase of supplies and help fund programs that will enrich the classroom experience for our students,” said John Summerhill, superintendent, Ishpeming Public Schools. “We are grateful to be on the receiving end of a local business paying it forward.”
In addition to schools and other civic organizations, mBank also recognizes the importance of continued education and is proud to be able to support a unique project in the replacement of the windows at the Ishpeming Carnegie Library, an important local institution that was opened in 1904 and became a Michigan State Historic Site in 1980.
“We appreciate the support to help us restore the beauty and efficiency of our Library,” said Ray Leverton, chief fundraiser, Ishpeming Carnegie Public Library. “The mBank donation will allow us to purchase new windows that match the original appearance of our historical library and allow us to continue to provide an important service to our community members.”
