Minor injuries in U.S. 41 rollover accident
One person suffered minor injuries in a rollover accident in western Marquette County Wednesday afternoon.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Department says a Chevy pickup truck driven by James Draper, 61, of Baraga, was pulling a PT Cruiser on a trailer heading westbound on U.S. 41 near County Road CKL when the back end of the trailer swung into the eastbound lane, hitting the back end of a Walmart semi-truck driven by James Pollock, 52, of East Peoria, Illinois.
Draper had to be extricated from his vehicle, but was not injured. A passenger in the truck had minor injuries. Pollock was not injured.
Traffic on U.S. 41 was reduced to one lane as emergency crews assisted on scene.
Preliminary reports indicate speed and alcohol were not factors in the accident, and all occupants were wearing seatbelts.
Marquette County Rescue 131, Bell EMS, and the Ishpeming Township Fire Department assisted on scene.
