Marquette home invasion suspects arraigned
Two Marquette residents are scheduled to return to court later this month on charges coming out of a home invasion on Friday.
Johnathan Daniel Roy, 25, and Kyler Brock Arrieta, 25, both have a District Court preliminary exam scheduled for July 25th. They’re both charged with first-degree home invasion and firearm possession during commission of a felony.
Roy and Arrieta are both being held on $1 million bond, or $500,000 on each charge. District Judge Dennis Girard arraigned the two men this morning and appointed Marquette attorney Timothy Quinnell to represent Roy. Arrieta told the court he would retain his own counsel.
The two men are accused of breaking into 612 Windcrest Drive in Marquette on Friday morning through an unsecured door and assaulting the homeowner. Police say they found Roy and Arrieta outside an apartment in The Preserve at Orianna Ridge and arrested them there without incident.
The incident remains under investigation, and additional charges are possible.
