Four-wheeler accident leaves boy dead
A 12-year old-boy is dead following an accident in Delta County Sunday.
Delta County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene at 5:11 p.m. on M-35 near 26th Lane in Brampton Township. The 12-year-old was a passenger on a four-wheeler when the driver, another juvenile boy, attempted to cross the highway, police said.
The four-wheeler then hit a semi tractor trailer heading southbound. The 12-year-old was pronounced dead on scene and the driver of the four-wheeler was taken to St. Francis Hospital and treated for minor injuries before being released.
The accident remains under investigation.
Michigan State Police, Motor Carrier Division, Accident Reconstructionist, Delta County Victim Services, Rampart EMS and Brampton Township Fire assisted at the scene.
