Child pornography suspect will go to trial in October
A Sault Ste. Marie man who turned himself in for possession of child pornography will soon be facing a jury.
Eric Baldwin, 29, is scheduled to go to trial on October 22nd. Baldwin came to the police after the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department received a tip about possible child pornography.
He’s charged with ten counts of possession of child sexually abusive material and five counts of using a computer to commit a crime. Police say they searched Baldwin’s home and confiscated 19 electronic devices, including computers, cell phones and tablets.
The alleged victims range in age from toddlers to teenagers, but police don’t feel that any of the material was produced locally.
