Three taken to hospital in two car Ontonagon County crash

A two car accident in Ontonagon County sent three people to the hospital Saturday afternoon.

Troopers from the Wakefield Post of the Michigan State Police say it happened on M-28 near Pendock Road in Bergland Township around 4:20 EST, when 25-year-old  Grant Larsen slowed down in the eastbound lane to make a left turn onto Pendock Road. Police say the Waterloo, Iowa resident did not see 48-year-old Laurie Miller of Ironwood heading westbound in her vehicle when he pulled in front of her. She was unable to avoid the collision. Miller and her two passengers, 25-year-old May Miller and 44-year-old Karla Croteau of Rockland, were taken to Aspirus Grand View Hospital in Ironwood for unknown injuries.

Both vehicles had severe front end damage and were towed from the scene by Lahti’s Towing and Eddy Park Towing.

Troopers were assisted on scene by the Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Department, the Bergland Volunteer Fire Department, the Bruce Crossing Volunteer Fire Department’s Jaws of Life, Sonco South Ambulance Service, two Beacon Ambulance ALS units, and the Motor Carrier Division of the Michigan State Police.
