Man sentenced to 5 to 20 years for meth lab
An Ishpeming man will spend five to 20 years in prison on a meth lab charge.
Branden Holm, 27, pleaded guilty to operating or maintaining a meth lab. He received his sentence in Marquette County Circuit Court on Friday.
In February, the Ishpeming Police and the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team obtained a search warrant for 429 East High Street in Ishpeming. They arrested Holm after finding meth components and two one-pot meth cookers.
Holm was originally charged with two counts of operating or maintaining a meth lab and one count of operating or maintaining a lab near a specified place. The house is near Phelps School, which still houses extracurricular activities even though classes are no longer held there. Prosecutors dismissed two of the three counts under the terms of a plea bargain.
