Man who destroyed Iron Mountain police car faces felony charges

The 21-year-old man accused of smashing in the front and driver’s side windows of a Iron Mountain police car last Friday now faces felony charges.

Kevin McDowell was arraigned Saturday in Dickinson County District Court on one felony count of malicious destruction of police property. If convicted, he could serve of up to four years in jail and/or pay up to $5,000 in fines.

Iron Mountain Police made the arrest early Friday morning after officers reported seeing McDowell smash two windows of a station vehicle parked in the department lot.

McDowell remains lodged in the Dickinson County Correctional Center on a $2,500 cash surety bond. He will be back in court for a preliminary exam on May 6th.
