Ishpeming men sentenced after conviction in torture trial

The two Ishpeming men convicted of torturing and kidnapping two women were sentenced in Marquette County Circuit Court Monday morning.

Jason Sadowski was sentenced to 40 to 80 years on one count of solicitation of murder and two counts of torture. He was also sentenced to serve 10 to 15 years on two counts of false imprisonment and 5 to 10 years on two counts of strangulation.

Charles Cope was sentenced to a minimum of 25 and a maximum of 40 years on two counts of torture and 10 to 15 years on two counts of unlawful imprisonment.

Both men will serve their sentences concurrently.

The men were found guilty of these counts on March 4th. The charges stem from an incident where the men held two women captive in the basement of The Martial Way in Ishpeming last summer.
