Woman charged in Iron Mountain armed robbery investigation
A 26–year–old Florida woman has been arraigned in Dickinson County District Court on multiple felony charges stemming from an armed robbery incident that took place in Iron Mountain last summer.
Mary Angela Hawthorne was extradited to Michigan from Pennsylvania earlier this week.
She is charged with ‘armed robbery’, ‘conspiracy to commit armed robbery’ and ‘1st degree home invasion’.
Hawthorne and two other suspects, 35–year–old Gene Hebert from Niagara Wisconsin and 17–year–old Jacelin Sims, were involved in the alleged armed robbery.
Police say the incident occurred on the 200 block of West Brown Street, where three suspects dressed in black entered a home, robbed a man at knife point, stole cash and the man’s medical marijuana.
Sims was sentenced in December and now faces 3 to 15 years in prison.
Hawthorne and Hebert are scheduled for preliminary exams on April 8th.
