COVID-19 unemployment benefits to expire Saturday
Federal unemployment benefits through the CARES Act will end on Saturday.
Enhanced unemployment benefits were first issued in March of 2020.
More than 2.4 million Michigan residents have used the programs, according to the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO).
More than $38 billion in benefits have been paid since the program began.
