TOLEDO, Ohio — The Toledo Walleye of the ECHL have announced the signing of former Wildcat forward, Brandon Schultz, to a one-year contract.

In his year and a half with the Wildcats, Schultz skated in 43 total games, accumulating 23 points off six goals and 17 assists. First appearing in a Wildcat sweater in January 2020, the Estero, Florida, native made an early impact on the team, registering 10 assists in 18 games played.

After recording just one goal in 2019-20, Schultz fired away this past season, netting five goals, including two game-winners. The recent graduate completed his career at Northern Michigan University with a combined plus-10 on-ice rating.

The ECHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League, the Walleye will make their return to the ice in 2021-22 after suspending operations last season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They are set to open their season Oct. 23 in Kalamazoo.
