Gov. Whitmer Urges Parents to File a Federal Income Tax Return
If you have children, then you might be eligible for a tax credit.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer urged parents to file a federal tax income return today, if they haven’t already done so.
The American Rescue Plan Act increased the federal child tax credit to $3,600 per year for children under six and $3,000 for children ages 6 to 17.
Tax credits will be issued as a monthly payment and not count as additional income.
Families who don’t normally file a tax return can use the Non–Filer Sign-Up Tool.
