Upper Peninsula police budgets are taking a substantial hit due to a nationwide ammunition shortage. The shortage began in 2020 and spilled over into 2021

Throughout the pandemic the hoarding of ammunition led to the shortage and, as a result, skyrocketing prices, affecting UP’s law enforcements’ acquisition of ammunition.
