U.P. human trafficking update

Upper Peninsula authorities arrested 6 men on child sex trafficking charges recently, according to a downstate sheriff.

Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson congratulated the U.P. human oppression strike team in a Facebook video on Friday evening.

Swanson said the six men, who were between the ages of 32 and 64 years old allegedly came to the location to have sex with an underage girl.

The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security joined law enforcement agencies from across the Upper Peninsula to organize the sting.

Swanson said the U.P. task force asked for and was provided  Genesee Human Oppression Strike Team playbook.

The Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office called the investigation a “resounding success’ on Friday.

More details should be released on Wednesday.
