Teal Lake Fishing Derby to take place Saturday
NEGUANEE, Mich. -The Teal Lake Fishing Derby will be taking place Saturday from 7a.m. to 2 p.m.
Seasoned anglers, rookies and families are all welcomed to come cast their lines for some good family fun and a chance to win some prizes.
Fishermen can either compete to catch the most fish or create a team to catch the biggest walleye in the lake.
A grand prize package featuring a Frabil Ice Hunter Sidestep 200 Flipover Shack, along with cash prizes of $150, $100 and $50 in both the adult and children category.
The event will look a little different this year, with social distancing as well as no actual ceremony to ensure COVID safety precautions are met.
“It’s good for the community; get people out on the ice and get families. Give away some prizes, basically a family event. Trying to keep it family friendly.” Says SSFA member Cory Larson.
