Kameron Karp Named Finalist for MHSAA Scholar-Athlete Award

MARQUETTE, Mich. – Kameron Karp, Marquette Senior High School Senior and Football/Basketball/Track & Field student-athlete, was selected as one of 24 “Boys – Class A” finalists from around the state.  From this highly accomplished field of male student-athletes, six (6) will be selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship from the MHSAA and Farm Bureau Insurance.

For 31 years, the MHSAA and Farm Bureau Insurance have honored the best student-athletes in Michigan.  Again this year they will award 32 students with $1,000 scholarships based on achievement and leadership in athletics and activities, as well as responses to short-answer and essay questions.  In many ways, this is the most prestigious honor the MHSAA awards annually.

Karp is a four-year participant in both the Football and Boys Basketball programs and has also participated in the Boys Track & Field program for one-year (2021 will mark his second season of participation in track & field).

“It’s just always rewarding to a student-athlete as driven as Kameron has been, to not only take the work to establish the goals for himself that he has” says Marquette High School Athletic Director Alex Tiseo. “Just to see through the hard work he has put in, the training during the off-seasons and how bad he has wanted to achieve these things and to see that all come to fruition.”

The 32 total recipients of the MHSAA Scholar-Athlete Award will be announced throughout February.
