MARQUETTE, Mich.(WBUP) — The Northern Michigan University eSports team defeated Olivet Nazarene University in a CSL League of Legends match, 2-0, over the weekend to advance to 3-1 on the season.
Game one saw the Wildcats dominate the pick and ban phase coming out with strong lane matchups and, through controlled gameplay, the team posted a convincing 19-3 scoreline. The team carried this momentum into game two and completed the 2-0 sweep with a 22-8 scoreline, finishing the game in a mere 23 minutes.
The Wildcats saw great play from the entire team, with Most Valuable Player honors for both games and the series going to Dontae Bailey who goes by the in-game name “NMU Inferno”. He recorded a perfect KDA in game one with a scoreline of 7/0/4, game two saw Bailey continue to dominate his opponent with a 2/1/13 scoreline making his combined scoreline 9/1/17 with a 26.0 KDA while leading the team in CS in both games.
This was the last match for the Wildcats this semester. They hope to build on the momentum into the next semester and competitions moving forward.
