MDARD to host Virtual Food and Agriculture meeting on August 13th

MICHIGAN — Three weeks from July 23rd, The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will be holding a virtual meeting to discuss food and housing challenges in the UP and Northern parts of Michigan.
“The goal is really to get feedback from farmers, producers, anyone in those regions that are seeing shortage of housing or the need for affordable housing for workers in the food and agriculture industry,” said Jamie Zmitko-Somers, Deputy Department Director at Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Somers says she hopes many groups participate in this meeting.
