Ore to Shore Mountain Bike Epic to continue as planned

MARQUETTE — Many events are being canceled around the Upper Peninsula because of COVID–19, but not the Ore to Shore Mountain Bike Epic.

The 21st annual event is currently scheduled to take place on August 8th. Organizers are aware of the coronavirus pandemic and have made several modifications in order to help protect the health of everyone involved in the race.

“It is still very early in a very fluid situation,” said Nicole Swenson, Ore to Shore Race Coordinator. “We want the community to be protected. So our volunteers, our sponsors and our local racers so far have the same fears. But we also want to have hope that towards the end of the summer, there is something that we can look forward to.”

Organizers will continue to monitor the pandemic as the bike race gets closer. If the race is canceled, registered participants will transfer over to next year’s competition. For more information, click here.
