Man killed in one vehicle crash in Stephenson, Wisconsin

STEPHENSON, WI — According to Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve, at 12:05 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, Martinette County Dispatch received a call of a one vehicle crash on County Highway “W” near Senator Lake Road.

A pickup truck had gone off the road and impacted some trees. The lone male driver was ejected and severely injured.

Sheriff’s deputies, Twin Bridge Rescue, Aurora Bay Area Hospital paramedics, and the Town of Stephenson Fire Department all responded to the scene. The victim was airlifted from the Crivitz Airport to a Green Bay Hospital by Eagle Three Medical Flight.

The Marinette County Medical Examiner was notified that evening that the victim died as a result of multiple injuries sustained in the crash. The victim has been identified as 66-year-old Terrance “Terry” Engel of rural Crivitz.

Alcohol and no seat belt usage are believed to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation. This is the first traffic fatality in Marinette County in 2020.
