MARQUETTE — Those looking to start construction and renovation projects have the opportunity to network with local building experts this weekend.

The 46th–annual UP Builders Show kicked off Friday night, with hundreds of businesses and building enthusiast alike gathering at the Superior Dome in Marquette.

According to one of the show’s organizers, the event is one that involves and benefits the whole community.

“I think it’s a very important part of the community, especially with us competing with online purchases,” said Sarah Schultz, Executive Officer for the Home Builders Association of the UP. “I think it’s super important for everyone to come down here and support your local community, the whole UP, and make that face-to-face connection.”

The UP Builders Show continues this weekend, with $1,000 being given out every day to lucky contestants.

About 120 vendors are present, offering anything someone might need for their home project. For more information on the UP Builders Show, visit their website here.
