Tickets now available for 11th annual SAIL Chocolate Festival

MARQUETTE — Tickets are now on sale for the yearly festival where you can taste some delicious treats for a good cause.

The 11th annual Superior Alliance for Independent Living Chocolate Festival will be held at Northern Michigan University from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on February 23.

Attendees will have the opportunity to sample sweets from 12 different chocolatiers. Proceeds from the event will go toward SAIL’s “One in Five” campaign, which helps individuals with disabilities get involved in health, recreation, technology, and other types of programs.

SAIL has received great responses from the community over the past few years. For them, it’s all about giving back to members of the community living with disabilities.

“We’ve had 45 chocolatiers participate over the ten years so far that have gone out and given back in their community,” said SAIL Executive Director Sarah Peurakoski. “It really means a lot to the community, and I’ve had a lot of people say that they want to visit those chocolatiers after because they do give back to people with disabilities. People with disabilities are part of our community just like anybody else, and it’s really important that those chocolatiers and the public recognize that and are giving back to these programs.”

Tickets are $15 per person, and children ages 5 and under will be admitted for free. To secure your ticket for this year’s SAIL Chocolate Festival, click here.
