MARQUETTE — Marquette’s favorite skiing and snowboarding destination is under new ownership.

Marquette Mountain and its surrounding 330 acres have been sold, and members of the community gathered to celebrate the change of ownership.

The new owners, as General Manager Andrew Farron explains, are a perfect fit for the resort.

“Yesterday Marquette Mountain was purchased by a new family, they’re out of Wisconsin,” said Farron. “They are homeowners here in Marquette. [They’re] avid skiers, and family-first, employees-first kind of people. We’re pretty excited about the new ownership, and they’ve got a lot of ideas and vision for the years ahead.”

The property was sold to Eric and Sarah Jorgensen. Eric Jorgensen is the president and CEO of JX Enterprises, Inc., which is a truck transportation company based in Hartland, Wisconsin.

Although the new owners have plans for the future, Marquette Mountain will continue to operate like it has been for the remainder of the season.

The previous owners, Pete and Lois O’Dovero, sold the property after owning it for 33 years.
