MDDA has recently launched a new parking app

MARQUETTE — The Marquette Downtown Development Authority has been working with Passport Parking Systems to create a new parking app for your Smartphone.

The parking app, called Passport Parking, allows drivers to locate and choose a parking meter in downtown Marquette. Along with paying for the spot through your phone, the app also gives drivers an alert when your meter is almost up and lets you add more time if you wish. Passport Parking can be used on Washington Street, the North Main Street parking lot, and the Bluff Street parking ramp.

“We’re always looking for ways to make things more convenient for people,” said Tara Laase–McKinney, Promotions and Events Coordinator for the Marquette Downtown Development Authority. “So this is definitely a way that will make paying for parking a lot easier for people who are visiting downtown. It makes tracking parking expenses a lot easier. You don’t have to worry about saving receipts anymore; they will all be stored in the app.”

The MDDA launched the app on Monday, and you can find it in the App Store or on Google Play.
