6th annual Women, Wine and Wellness raises funds for local non-profits

MARQUETTE — The holiday season kicked off in downtown Marquette with an event that was beneficial for everyone involved.

The 6th-annual Women, Wine and Wellness event provided free wine, along with an opportunity to check out local vendors from businesses and non-profits.

Originally starting out as a customer appreciation event for Integrated Wellness Chiropractic, it has since morphed into something more community-based.

“We realized that we wanted to have more of a community feel to it,” said Brandon Turino, owner of Integrated Wellness Chiropractic. “We felt like that’s cool to have an event that’s centered around us, but it’s even cooler to have an event that’s centered around our community, because that’s what we wanted to showcase.”

Proceeds from goods sold and a silent auction, as well as a 50/50 raffle went to 6 local non-profits represented at the event.

The 6 non-profits represented were the UP Children’s Museum, Toys for Tots, the Women’s Shelter, Girls on the Run, and the Great Lakes Recovery Center.
