20th annual Holiday Art Sale taking place this Saturday at the Marquette Regional History Center

MARQUETTE — This weekend a local holiday tradition will be taking place at the Marquette Regional History Center.

The City of Marquette Arts & Culture Center will be holding its 20th annual Holiday Art Sale at the History Center on Saturday, November 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Holiday Art Sale originally began as a way to allow artists to sell their work for the holidays, and the event has grown every year. It’s a great way to get into the holiday spirit and support local artists at the same time.

“We have artists from every medium coming into our space and selling their work,” said Jessica Bays, store and rental manager for the Marquette Regional History Center. “We probably have around 25 artists here this year. So it’s a great place to go if you want to purchase your wreaths for the holiday season or if you want to come in and buy a unique gift for someone for the holidays.”

Admission to the Holiday Art Sale is $2 per person, and all proceeds go to support the Marquette Regional History Center. The admission fee includes access to the art sale, the center’s dollhouse exhibit which includes a scavenger hunt for kids, and access to all Marquette Regional History Center exhibits. There will also be a bake sale and a membership drive at the event to support the History Center.

This is the Marquette Regional History Center’s third year hosting the Holiday Art Sale, and they are excited to once again bring festive local art to the community.
