Minnesota man arrested for narcotic charges and revoked drivers license

MARINETTE COUNTY — A Minnesota man was arrested in Niagara Wisconsin Monday night after leading police on a pursuit in a stolen vehicle.

The Marinette County Sheriff’s Department was notified that Forest County was in pursuit of a stolen pick-up truck that was reported stolen in Tomahawk, Wisconsin.

Forest County Sheriff’s deputies pursued the stolen truck into Marinette County on U.S. Highway 8. The truck eventually stopped in the town of Niagara.

According to the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect was ordered out of the vehicle but was uncooperative. It was also believed that the suspect could be armed because the owner of the truck left his pistol in the door of the truck.

37-year-old Dieter Sobtebier of Minnesota was eventually taken into custody without incident.

Sobtebier was wanted in Minnesota on warrants for narcotic charges and his driving status was revoked. He was relayed back to Oneida County, Wisconsin where the vehicle was stolen. There were no injuries or vehicles damaged in the incident.
