Upper Peninsula Regional Blood Center holds blood drive at Fox Negaunee

NEGAUNEE — A local car dealership hosted a blood drive from 3:00–5:00 Tuesday afternoon.

The Upper Peninsula Regional Blood Center stopped at Fox Negaunee to accept blood donations. Fox Negaunee says they’ve been looking for more ways to get involved in the community, and the U.P. Regional Blood Center was more than happy to hold a blood drive at the dealership.

The U.P. Regional Blood Center accepts blood donations across the Upper Peninsula. Those donations are supplied to area hospitals, allowing those who donate blood the opportunity to help their friends and neighbors in need.

“All the blood collection through the U.P. Regional Blood Center stays in the U.P.,” said Rachel Heath, Blood Collection Coordinator for the Upper Peninsula Regional Blood Center. “It supplies 13 of the local hospitals in the U.P., so we’re the sole provider for all of the blood in the U.P. So that’s going to be the ones helping all of your family, friends, and neighbors that need blood when they’re in the hospital.”

Tuesday’s blood drive was just one of many the Upper Peninsula Regional Blood Center hosts throughout the year. If you’d like to know more about upcoming blood drives, you can find more information here.
