Authorities Investigate Personal Injury Crash At US 41/M95 Intersection

On Monday around 10:00 a.m., The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a three vehicle personal injury crash at the US 41/M95 intersection. Judith Prisk of Champion, age 79, was driving a 2007 Ford Escape and traveling eastbound on US 41. William Mattila of Republic, age 65, was driving a 2010 Subaru Forester and turning south onto M-95 from US 41 when he crossed into the path of Prisk’s eastbound vehicle, causing a collision. Prisk’s car then overturned several times, striking a 2018 Chrysler 300 driven by Michael McCann from Negaunee, age 71, who was stopped in the turning lane by Mattila’s vehicle. Prisk and Mattila were taken by ambulance to Bell Hospital and UP Health Systems Marquette, where they were treated for severe, but not life threatening, injuries. The crash is still under investigation. The Marquette County Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted on scene by Marquette County Rescue, 131, Humboldt Township Fire Department, Bell EMS, and UP Health Systems Marquette EMS.
