Silver Creek Church Partners with Feeding America for a community event

MARQUETTE COUNTY — A local church partnered with Feeding America to host an event to help give support to members of the community.

The event was established due to the Silver Creek Church and its Serve Week campaign that involves church members going out to volunteer at events to help the community. The Feeding America Event was on the agenda for the campaign and it was able to provide many items of nutrition for members of the community.

“We realize that a lot of people don’t really have everything they need to make ends meet,” explained Kevin Taylor, Lead Pastor at Silver Creek Church. “So we wanted to do something proactively and so we joined in partnership with Feeding America. We thought it was a great fit for us, because we really want to engage the community and we want to meet needs that are real needs. So we thought this was a great way to do that as a church. We are also really encouraging the volunteerism through our Serve Week campaign all week long. This also just one of our events for the week and it has been a great week so far just serving and we are excited about Feeding America here today.”

200 families were able to receive food and support from the church and Feeding America through this event.
