Travel Marquette invites the public to participate in Artventure

MARQUETTE — Travel Marquette invites the public to participate in Artventure – a rotating art exhibit inside their office on Washington Street.

The art exhibit will include pieces of work involving different materials naturally and man made throughout the Upper Peninsula.

“This is the Artventure home show and so we have a variety of handmade and handcrafted pieces of work,” explained Susan Estler, Travel Marquette Executive Director. “Everything from bike parts to steam punk lamps and things that are using natural objects from around the area.”

It’s also a great way to showcase Marquette and U.P. art and allowing small businesses and artists to get there work out into the public.

“Definitely Marquette has a great vibe as far as arts and cultures concern,” said Estler. “It continues to grow and continues to be cultivated by the artists and creative people within the community. So this is just a natural extension. We have visitors, especially this time of year, coming through this center and we like to encourage promoting local businesses and artists.”

They consider works from all mediums and have featured creations of artists local and far.
